How to get the right appointment

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT BRITISH CITIZEN HOLDERS OF AN EU CITIZEN GREEN RESIDENCE REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE EITHER A4 SIZE OR GREEN PAPER CREDIT CARD SIZED HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY SO WISH. THE GREEN DOCUMENTS ARE COMPLETELY VALID FOR THE TIME BEING.

At the time of writing the appointments available in Tenerife are limited and are issued weekly on a Friday for the following week Updated 02/10/20 Format of appointment screen changed

2)Chose Province from the pull down menu- in our case S Cruz Tenerife

2a)For Existing Green Residence Certificate holders* chose TRÁMITES CUERPO NACIONAL DE POLICÍA then the 3rd choice down POLICÍA-EXP.TARJETA ASOCIADA AL ACUERDO DE RETIRADA CIUDADANOS BRITÁNICOS Y SUS FAMILIARES (BREXIT)

* Or holders who are registered but have lost or had stolen their green certificate (requires Police report) or new arrivals who have completed their initial application in Santa Cruz and have a favourable acceptance document.

2b) complete personal details and then when asked chose the location. To apply to give fingerprints and obtain the actual card for existing green certificate holders or new applicants with a favourable acceptance report the choices (when available) are Santa Cruz, Las Americas and Puerto de la Cruz

For new applicants see B below

A) to exchange a British Citizen’s existing green residence certificate for a TIE, or replace a lost or stolen one for a TIE, or new arrivals at stage 2 in possession of a favourable resolution paper (see new arrivals stage one (B) below)

To present form Ex23 you must be in possession of EITHER a green certificate of residence (A4 Or Wallet sized) OR a police report (denuncia) confirming that the original has been lost or stolen OR a favourable resolution paper if you are a applying after 6 July and before 31 December 2020, a residencia sized photograph, a certificate of empadronamiento and a 790 form for payment of the tasa.

Once you have attended the appointment, had your fingerprints taken and your Ex23 is processed you will be given a document like this

Take this document together with your passport back to the same office after the time indicated (normally up to 45 days) to collect you card.

B) New arrivals BEFORE THE END OF THE TRANSITION PERIOD stage 1

3) Chose TRÁMITES OFICINAS DE EXTRANJERÍA and then Trámite para la documentación de nacionales del Reino Unido (Brexit)

Once you have presented your Ex20 application (currently ONLY in Santa Cruz) and been granted a favourable resolution paper (up to 3 months) follow steps for A) above
